A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN LEAD RIDES OPERATOR

As a Lead Ride Operator, you will perform a variety of tasks related to the safe operation of the Zoo's ride attractions. You are expected to perform all tasks and procedures to the standard set by Zoo management. You will have constant contact with Zoo guests and must exhibit exceptionally awesome guest service at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEAD RIDES OPERATOR

  • Ability to operate rides safely.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record.
  • Experience with narrow gauge trains preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred
  • Two years of cash register/cash-handling experience in a foodservice operation is required.
  • Within 60 days of employment, the successful completion of the Texas Food Protection Management Program.
  • 1-year customer service experience preferred.
  • Understanding of Food Safety and HACCP processes
  • Supervisory experience in retail, hospitality, or food service environment is preferred
  • Successful completion of the Guest ExperienceTraining Curriculum
  • Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment background check and drug test
  • Must be able to work in varying climate and weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, or cold)
  • We enjoy year-round operation for all staff, must be available days, nights, weekends, and occasional after-hour assignments.
  • This position requires a valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License or a valid driver's license from another state with the ability to obtain a Class "C" Texas Driver's License within 45 days of becoming employed.

WORK SCHEDULE

We are a year-round operation; this position requires a flexible schedule to work weekends, holidays, and occasionally after hours for special assignments.
