As a Line Cook,  you will perform tasks related to food preparation, presentation, cooking, stocking ingredients, catering, and sanitizing.   You will constantly exhibit an exceptional internal and external guest service attitude and obvious interest in guest assistance as you will be a part of the safe operation of the restaurant (s) kitchen area.

  • Assist in the preparation of food for daily business.
  • Work all equipment as needed including the grill and fryers.
  • Ensure orders are quickly prepared and served to the guest.
  • Ensure the kitchen is properly closed and cleaned at the end of the day's business.
  • Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and sanitary during the business day.
  • Assist the Lead Cooks with any duties required for the safe operation of your assigned work area.
  • Assist the Executive Chef and Head Sous Chef with catered events at the Zoo.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or GED certificate.
  • Six (6) months of restaurant experience is desirable.
  • We enjoy year-round hours for all staff, must be available nights, weekends and general readiness during our peak seasons.
  • Ability to perform and/or demonstrate the following:
  1. Use various types of kitchen equipment.
  2. Recognize and quickly perform any duties required to maintain a clean and sanitary food establishment.
  3. Sufficient physical dexterity and mobility to perform tasks assigned.
  4. Constantly demonstrate honesty in day-to-day performance.
